Your level of confidence all depends on the thoughts and chemicals that are bouncing around in your brain. This is my favourite subject having a child that was non-verbal from a young age has allowed me to understand that actions do speak louder than words.

Body language consists of non-verbal communication such as facial expressions, eye movements, gestures and posture. ... The communication mistake that many people make is to focus mostly on our ability to talk and write, forgetting that non-verbal communication makes up approximately 93 percent of how we communicate.

Your body language changes you inside and out.

When you hold your body in a power stance, your brain chemistry changes and you immediately feel more confident and powerful. This changes the way you see yourself, and the way other people see you too.

Within 2 minutes, a power stance creates a 20 percent increase in testosterone and a 25 percent decrease in the stress hormone cortisol. Which makes you feel more confident and powerful.

Smile

Now that you’ve done your power stance, let’s push it up a notch with a big smile.

It tells your brain you’re happy. It makes other people happy. It boosts your self-confidence. It makes you more likeable.

These two tips should help you destress and feel empowered and confident the next time you need a boost.  Being more aware of ourselves allows us to be more aware of the people you surround yourself with and how you project and receive information. Next time you have a conversation focus on the body language and not the words.

Being happy is the key to life! Be yourself always, evolve into a better you and never deny yourself the opportunity to learn.
